Abilities: 

Ability One: One Man Band
- Without instruments or even opening his mouth, Cain is capable of psychically playing music. Songs cannot exceed 15 minutes, and it takes him 5 minutes before he's able to project another piece of music. Music can include the sound of any kind of instrument, and as many instruments as Cain wants. His emotions can impact the quality of the music (ex. if upset the music will likely sound offbeat and distorted. Though in contrast, if he is happy the music will sound put together and seamless). Is not able to sing in any voice other than his own, and singing while playing music is significantly difficult.

Ability Two: Music is the emotional life

- Cain is able to manipulate the mood and feelings of people who hear the same piece of music at the same time as him. He's able to make people angry, sad, happy, etc. The mood/feeling changes can be as intense as Cain desires. These mood changes do not last more than 30 minutes and it will take 30 minutes to recharge this ability before using it again. When using this ability, the music cannot surpass 80 decibels. Those who are effected by this ability will NOT know that they have been affected (unless they connect the dots between Cain, music, and a specific change in mood), and Cain is not able to change his own mood/feelings.

Ability Three: Performing Live...
- Cain is able to evoke specific visual hallucinations of his choosing in those who hear the same piece of music at the same time as him. The effects of each hallucination is a maximum of 30 minutes, and it takes 30 minutes before he can use this ability again. The hallucinations feel real, yet don't have any physical properties.


Ability Four: Singing in the rain

-  Cain is able to take another person’s voice permanently with a written and contractual agreement. This leaves the person without a voice (unable to speak or sing) until given another voice. Cain is able to use the voices he takes as currency somewhat, being able to switch them with other people’s voices (given that they sign a written contract as well). The people who have their voices taken are not able to get their voice back until they sign another contract.

• Is purely magic/mental based, and would hypothetically be able to give somebody with a cut tongue or vocal cords a voice.

• if the person who originally had the voice dies, the voice will die with it.

• Can only keep up to 3 voices at a time without giving them to another person

-Passive: Cain is able to temporarily take a voice from another person. This leaves the person in question without a voice for up to 30 minutes, and does not require a contract to be signed. He is not able to switch voices he takes nonconsensually, however.

Ability Five: Swan Song
- Playing a specific ‘death song’ can kill one person who hears it. The person it kills is completely up to chance, and it has the possibility of killing Cain. Even if it doesn’t kill Cain, it will always leave him sick and exhausted for a week after.

-Passive: Rather than outright kill somebody who hears the song, his passive ability allows him to make one person who hears a song fall sick. The sickness they find themselves afflicted with is not fatal and simply akin to a stomach flu. The flu will last up to two weeks, and cause the person afflicted to be incredibly lethargic. Unlike the main ability, Cain will not feel sick and exhausted when making others ill.

History: 

    It had been a distant uncle, the one who took Cain away from a quiet seaside life and thrust into the blinding spotlight. From only eight years old he began teaching the little boy how to sing, how to dance, and how to overall entertain a crowd. By the time he was fourteen he was regularly performing on stage, travelling around with a modest freakshow; owned and operated by his uncle.Billing as a “singing doll”.

    While he rarely with ill intent, his uncle certainly was quite foolish. Through Cain’s years in the freak show he watched many leave, occasionally forced to. Irresponsible spending at his uncle’s hand caused him to be unable to pay the freaks, and coupled with rather poor living conditions made the argument to stay a rather difficult one to make.  While some remained, taking what could be offered, the overwhelming majority decided to leave.

    With a struggling business, and a tempting offer from a strange woman; his uncle was met with quite the difficult decision.

     It had been arranged by his uncle, his marriage to Virginia Hillern. Whether or not money crossed hands was unconfirmed to Cain, but he certainly had suspicions.

    She wasn’t the most desirable woman. Constantly clad in the palest of colours and makeup, she strove to stay utterly pure and make her new husband into the perfect doll. By dressing and treating him like a little girl’s toy, and merely subduing him with drink, it was by no means a difficult task.

    As hazy as his married years are to recall, he certainly couldn’t remember finding them positive. It felt humiliating, that was for certain. He wanted to get out as soon as he could. But where would he go? What would he do? Perhaps it would be easy enough just to stay with Virginia for a few more years. After all she practically spoiled him, even if it was in such a juvenile way…

    Some exciting news. A circus was coming, an unfamiliar one by the name of the Circus Blackmere. Virginia was excited, she always had been eager to see the new freaks and performances that would await them. So Cain and her went.

    It’s so easy to lose such a small man in a crowd.

    And as much as you call after him, he’s near impossible to find.

  The following 4 years for Cain were spent surgically attached to the body of another man. Cain was going to get to star in a freak show yet again, though not in the way he had hoped. Being shown off as a ‘conjoined twin’ with very little bodily autonomy was far from preferable.

 Thankfully for Cain, the man he had been forced onto eventually passed away. Whether from bodily infection or starvation was unknown, but he was finally free and unattached from the restrictions of flesh that he had become accustomed to.

Luckily the man wasn’t completely useless to the circus. He had displayed various musical talents, having sung songs with his twin while in the freak show cages. This already displayed experience allowed him to work as a performer, singing and entertaining crowds. Slowly he worked his way up to writing music, and was beginning to have his pieces approved for performances.

   The last five years have only ended up with more promotions for Cain, and he’s become instructor and coordinator for all musical acts. Despite everything the circus has put him through, he’s found his current
situation to be quite favorable.

- Had legs removed when he was attached to his former “twin”’s body when the two were conjoined. Has since had legs re-attached to his own body. Is pretty sure that they've made him taller than previously, and has... mixed feelings about that.
- Due to his surgical modifications since joining the Circus Blackmere, has numerous scars on his legs, arms, and back. Often makes it difficult or painful for him to perform physically strenuous tasks.
- He's a huge lightweight due to his size. Doesn't need much of any drug or alcohol to feel the effects.
- Cain is not his birthname, only really started going by it when joining Circus Blackmere.
